BREAKING: TAMPA BIOTECH FIRM LANDS $50 MILLION PARTNERSHIP DEAL, PLEDGES 300 NEW FLORIDA JOBS

TAMPA, FL — BioNova Health Sciences, a rapidly growing Tampa-based biotechnology company specializing in advanced diagnostic testing and personalized medicine, today announced a landmark $50 million strategic partnership with global pharmaceutical leader MedAxis International. The agreement, signed this week at BioNova’s Tampa headquarters, is expected to generate more than 300 new high-wage jobs across the Tampa Bay region over the next three years.

The partnership will fund the expansion of BioNova’s state-of-the-art research and manufacturing campus in the Westshore Business District, adding over 120,000 square feet of laboratory and production space. The new facility is slated to break ground in Q3 2026 and is projected to be fully operational by early 2028.

“This is a transformative moment not just for BioNova, but for Tampa Bay and the entire state of Florida,” said Dr. Sandra Reyes, Founder and CEO of BioNova Health Sciences. “We are proud to be investing in our local workforce and bringing cutting-edge medical innovation right here to the heart of Florida.”

The new positions will span a range of disciplines including biochemistry research, clinical data analysis, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and advanced manufacturing. Average salaries for the new roles are expected to exceed $75,000 annually, well above the regional median, providing a significant economic boost to Hillsborough County.

Florida Governor’s office released a statement praising the announcement, calling it “a testament to Florida’s thriving business climate and our commitment to attracting world-class innovation.”

BioNova Health Sciences was founded in 2018 and has grown to over 400 employees across its Tampa and Orlando locations. The company’s flagship product, the NovaDx early detection platform, has been adopted by hospitals in 12 states and is currently under review for FDA expanded approval.MedAxis International, headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, operates in more than 60 countries and has invested significantly in expanding its U.S. biotech portfolio in recent years.

The deal is expected to close fully by May 2026, pending standard regulatory review.
